Over 25 students (pictured below), predominantly our sports leaders and a few others who have excelled in PE since the start of the year, travelled to Old Trafford on Wednesday night to watch the opening game of the Women’s Euro 2022 tournament. The majority of the students had never stepped foot inside a stadium and they were quite taken aback when they first caught a glimpse of the Theatre of Dreams! With over 68,000 in attendance, the atmosphere was brilliant (especially because we were in the Stretford End!) and the girls did their part cheering England on to a 1-0 victory over Austria! As a result of the girls taking part in the Game On leadership programme, the tickets were given to us as a reward for all of their hard work organising football tournaments for local primary schools throughout the year. The girls seemed to have a brilliant time and were a credit to the school the whole trip!
