It was the Bolton Athletics Championship this week for Year 9 and 10. It was a fantastic team performance and a very enjoyable day.
There were some stand out performances on the day and even 2 gold medal positions. Gill Nogueria ran an excellent 200m race and made the final. Jack Banks, Lucy Smith, Tabatha Shuttleworth and Kyle Jones both ran a personal best in their distance events and Mark Matthews showed superb determination to achieve personal best in his events.
It was Natasha Robinson who stole the show though carrying on from her top 3 finish in the GM Championship 2 weeks ago. Natasha had a superb day making the final and finishing 5th in the 100m and then achieved 1st place in the shot putt and javelin.
Next Tuesday, Year 7 and 8 will be competing in the Town championship and will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of their older peers.
