Sharples Under 13s entertained St James’ on Tuesday in the quarter final of the Bolton Cup. The weather was a distinct contrast to the glorious sun shine they played in the previous week. Sharples elected to bat first after winning the coin toss. Sharples struggled to gain any momentum as wickets began to fall and the bowling and fielding from the opposition was outstanding.  Sharples managed to steadily put runs on the board with Awarish hitting some boundaries and Zayd Adam hitting some impressive shots. Despite reaching a respectable total, Sharples couldn't prevent St James’ from reaching the target within the allotted overs. Significant improvements in the fielding and bowling were evident but Sharples will need to start hitting more runs with the bat. Next up is ESSA academy.
