This week saw Sharples form yet another link with a prestigious university in order to ensure that our students have high aspirations for their futures. Miss Molyneux visited the University of Cumbria in Lancaster to provide CPD for their teacher trainees. The teaching and learning workshop involved sharing some of the inspirational teaching and learning strategies that staff at Sharples have developed to engage learners.
Margaret Bassett who is a senior lecturer at the university is delighted that Sharples School are helping to prepare the next generation of teachers and she will visit Sharples later this year to speak to Year 11 pupils about the pathways to enter the teaching profession.
Sharples continues to have strong links with several top universities in the North West, including: The University of Liverpool, Edge Hill University, Manchester University, UCLAN, in addition to the University of Cumbria. These institutions have all partnered with Sharples on a variety of projects in the past year and our links will continue to forge a pathway for Sharples’ pupils to go on to study at these universities in the future.
