On Thursday this week Sharples held the first of our "STEM Christmas Festival" events for our local primary schools.  The Oaks, St Paul’s and Walmsley primary schools took part in the "Maths Magic Show" held in the school library with Mr Keighley and the Maths Ambassadors.

Mr Keighley wowed the Year 5 pupils with Maths illusions including "Think of a Number" and the "Country and Animal" trick.  The young mathematicians then had to try to work out how each trick was done.

The winning team with the most correct answers were the Year 5's; Laine, Alfie, Saba and Sienna from The Oaks Primary School!

A huge thank-you goes to Mr Keighley for organising the event and to our Year 10 Maths ambassadors Shoayb, Sarah, Sofia, Arshad and Ayesha.  A fantastic evening was had by all pupils with many parents attending to watch the youngsters compete. One parent said: "I am looking forward to my son trying out these tricks on the family at our Christmas dinner!"
