ArticleGolf1Our football team had league fixtures against Kearsley and two cup matches this week. Unfortunately, Kearsley had to make a last minute decision to postpone the fixtures until a later date. Year 8 looked to build on their first victory of the season when they travelled to Bolton School in round 1 of the Bolton Cup.  They arguably put in their best performance to date and were unlucky to lose 4-2. It was always going to be a difficult contest but Sharples were fantastic throughout, led by man of the match Jack Banks. Tom Stanway put in another excellent performance and new member Phoenix looks to be a great addition to the squad, scoring two goals on his debut.

At this point in the term, the game of the season was on Thursday night as Year 7 searched for their first win against Harper Green in the Bolton Cup. It was a ten goal thriller and the game could only be settled by penalties.  Unfortunately, it wasn't to be and Harper Green went through 3-2 on penalties.  Year 7 played their best football of the season and scored some excellent goals through Sam Fullarton, Matthew Senior 2, Josh Crompton and William on his debut.  If the team continue to play like this, then the wins will soon start coming.

Congratulations to Chris Flynn after he represented England HI golf team last weekend, unfortunately Scotland came out on top but Chris put in an excellent individual performance and we’re all very proud of his achievements.
