Sharples have entered a new indoor winter cricket league. This gave our year 7s the opportunity to develop their game in preparation for the season in summer. Sharples started with a fixture against SmithillsThis match was a thrilling encounter which went down to the last ball.  Sharples were extremely unlucky to lose by 1 run.

In our next fixture, we faced Turton and (once again) captain Usmal Afzal put in a ‘Man of the Match’ performance taking another 3 wickets.  Unfortunately,  it wasn’t enough to win the game.

Next Monday, the team will be in action in the league again starting with a game against Ladybridge.

On Tuesday 5th December, day a selection of our best swimmers competed in the Salford 100 competition. Each pupil took part in two races which consisted of lifesaving skills and rescues.  Our students competed against 7 other schools. All of our pupils put in a fantastic performance and, even though there was strong competition, our pupils achieved some excellent times. The year 8 pupils all improved their times from last year. Sharples top performers were Kacper Wejnar and Charlotte Robinson.

Travelling to Turton this week, were our table tennis team.  A selection of our year 7 students Josh Rand, Phil Ufoma and Alex Grabowski all broke into the squad and produced excellent performances against older opposition.  Well done!

In additon to this, Alex Grabowski is making waves in Bolton putting in star performances.  He won the majority of his matches.

Next up is Westhoughton at home next Wednesday.
