On Tuesday this week we welcomed Year 6 from Sharples Primary as they began the Science topic of "Electricity" with a high voltage lesson in the laboratories here at Sharples School. The students began by looking at the different components that make up a circuit and learning their symbols. After this, the challenge was on to construct a variety of circuits to make: light bulbs work, LED's switch on and off and get a buzzer to ring!
The session was quite literally "buzzing" and Mr Slater, Year 6 teacher from Sharples Primary, reported that his pupils had really enjoyed the experiments and learning about electricity in a hands on way.
The pupils will return to Sharples after half term to find out about series and parallel circuits.
