The Year 7 and 8 cricket team looked to bounce back from their narrow defeat to Ladybridge, when they travelled to Thornleigh. The fixture was umpired by GCSE students Sheraz Rafique and Muhammad Master whilst Abbas Patel was scorer. Sharples won the coin toss and decided to bowl. Sharples started well and began to take wickets through opening bowlers Raiman Afzal and Akil Essa. Thornleigh struggled to put runs on the board and further wickets fell as Awarish came into the bowling attack. A target of 52 runs was set and opening batsmen Raiman and Mustafa Khan soon started to tally up the runs. Both batsmen retired having nearly beaten the home teams score and Daewood was left to hit the winning runs and seal a fantastic victory.
