The Sharples Year 10 cricket team looked to build upon their last ball victory against Ladybridge. Sharples won the coin toss and decided to bowl. The first four overs proved to be decisive and probably cost Sharples the game. The opening batsmen were both dropped twice as they looked for big shots. The batsmen then capitalised on their fortune and went on to hit a partnership of just under 100 runs and set an impressive team total for Sharples to follow. The target of 152 runs was always going to put pressure on our batters and that proved to be the case, as the risks taken led to wickets falling quickly. Runs from Aadil Patel, Minhaaz Ismail and Sheraz Rafique managed to keep the score respectful. With just one over remaining Sharples were bowled out, with Sheraz being the only player not to lose his wicket.
