Year 7 looked to bounce back from their recent defeat to Essa on Tuesday night in the torrential rain at Sharples. Year 7 couldn't have hoped for a better start as Jake Spencer-Briggs scored after 2 minutes after an excellent run from Amir Munshi on the wing. After the goal it was all one-way traffic for the remainder of the first half as Ladybridge came back into the game. Two quick goals before half time gave Ladybridge a 2-1 lead at the interval. After a stern team talk Sharples responded well and Jack Banks scored an excellent solo goal driving the ball into the far bottom corner from distance. With the scores level both teams refused to give up and searched for a winner in what was an entertaining half of football.  With 3 minutes to go Hayden Dugdale and then Jack Banks failed to capitalise when in decent goal scoring positions; Ladybridge broke down the other end and scored to put them in the lead and then added a further goal in stoppage time to seal the victory.
