The football season continued to be hit by the terrible weather with many games postponed. However, the Year 9 boys managed to play their semi final game against Canon Slade. It was always going to be a difficult encounter against the cup favourites but the team never gave up and made the opposition work hard for their place in the final. Tom Stanway was fantastic in goal and pulled off some magnificent saves whilst Kyle Jones covered every blade of grass in midfield. Despite the best efforts of the team, Sharples couldn’t get the consolation goal they deserved but the season is turning out to be an excellent one for Year 9.
