NewsCrossCountryCup

Thirty-two pupils travelled to Rivington and Blackrod High School on Wednesday afternoon to take part in the annual Cross Country Cup.
The pupils selected came in the top six from their year group in last week’s cross country lessons.
The weather looked promising as we travelled over the tops to Rivington.
When we arrived our pupils realised the scale of the event. There were hundreds of runners, each one eager to beat their own personal bests and challenge the course record.
Pupils went at different times to compete in their races, most of which had more than 100 runners. Pupils came back to our base with varying amounts of mud splatters and tales of the course.

Our top performers on the day were Megan Taylor who came 3rd in her race, Ellie Taylor came 15th, Rehman Afzal came 10th and Callum Elliott came 7th.

Further to these outstanding results, the Year 10 and Year 11 girls came second out of all the schools in Bolton. This is a fantastic achievement.
Further congratulations go to Megan Taylor, Ellie Taylor, Jessica Altdorf, Robyn Taylor, Jess Bateson and Lara Bateson for their outstanding performances and determination.

Look out for our team photo in the Bolton News next week.
