More than 40 musicians worked incredibly hard for this year’s Carol Service at St Paul’s Church and gave super performances on the night.

The candlelit service began with Yasmin Bourke (Year 11) singing “Once in Royal David’s City” which sounded beautiful, creating a magical atmosphere as it echoed around St Paul’s.

Other highlights included “Let it Go” sung by our School choir whilst school band played “I’m Walking in the Air” and the Rock Group performed “Viva la Vida” and “Winter Wonderland.”

Smaller ensembles also performed, such as our Year 11 flute duo Emily Chamberlain and Jessica Altdorf playing “Christmas Medley.” Our Upper School singers gave a captivating performance of “Amid the Falling Snow” and a guitar trio added a new dimension with “Merry Christmas Everyone”.  Ellie Sutton (Year 7) was very brave and played “Away in a Manger” as a solo.

There was a real Christmassy feel to the event with congregational carols and readings from Dominic Welsby (Head Boy), Rosie Patel (Head Girl), Emily Chamberlain (Deputy-Head Girl) and Nyasha Mutikani (Year 8).

Congratulations to all the performers who should be incredibly proud.
