It was the last week of football fixtures for the boys this week. Sharples KS3 teams were in action at home against Eden boys for the first time.

Year 7 had a number of pupils making their debut for school and it’s excellent to see so many of the new year group representing the team this year. However, the team struggled against strong opposition and couldn’t finish the season with a win.

Year 8 welcomed back some key members of the squad and always looked a threat when attacking. It was a 12 goal thriller that saw Sharples score 6 goals but amazingly that was only enough for a point! William Scarborough scored a hat trick on his return to the side.

Year 9 have been the most improved team this year and were looking to extend their unbeaten run. It was a tight game and it looked like Sharples were about to take all 3 points after goals by Amir and Gill.  Equalising in the dying seconds, we settled for the draw.
