The under 16s boys football team travelled to St Catherine's for the last time in what was a memorable game of football. Sharples started well and went close through Tom Owen and Connor Elliott, who was unlucky not to score when he hit the post from distance. However, St Catherine's soon settled down and began to dominate possession. In a disastrous last 15 minutes in the first half, Sharples conceded 3 sloppy goals to go into half -time 3 goals down.

After a change of formation and attitude, Sharples began the second half well and pulled a goal back through Kai Eardley. It wasn't long until Kai broke the offside trap again to coolly slot past the oncoming keeper. With 5 minutes left, Kai sealed a fantastic hat trick including the goal of the game, which was a volley into the top corner of the net after a huge kick from goal keeper, Tom Crompton. Matthew Chapman went through on goal in the final minutes, but was unlucky to fire over the net with the last kick of the game, keeping the result at 3-3.
